An adorable baby orangutan, knit to perfection with just the right fuzzy yarn! The key to making this toy successful is your choice of yarn for the body. You want a rusty orange colour, and a yarn that’s either fuzzy, or loosely plied so you can brush it to make it fuzzy. 
 
The toy is knit flat in pieces, and them seamed and assembled. The face requires intarsia, and the limbs use bobbles and slipped stitches. Overall, the pattern is intermediate level. Finished size is about 20 cm (8”) tall.
 
Materials Required
Orangutan: 50 g worsted weight yarn in rust or orange, 15 g of worsted weight yarn in tan, 10 g of worsted weight yarn in brown, small amount of black yarn, pair of 10 mm safety eyes, stuffing, pair of 4 mm knitting needles, tapestry needle
Rusksack: 15 g of fingering weight yarn, 3.2 5 mm knitting needles, tapestry needle, narrow ribbon or cord (10”) or small crochet hook, small button (optional)
