Chipmunks have always seemed like adorable, friendly little woodland creatures to me. This one, in a charming cabled pullover, will be sure to delight a special little one (or not-so-little one).
 
The finished toy is about 20 cm (8") tall, and is knit flat, then seamed and assembled. The pattern in intermediate level, and besides the usual skills, requires you to know duplicate stitch (to embroider the stripes) and twisted stitches (for the pullover's cables).
 
Materials Required
Chipmunk: 50 g of worsted weight yarn in brown (MC), 10 g of worsted weight yarn in white (CC), 10 g of eyelash yarn to match MC (optional), small amount of black yarn for embroidery, two 8-10 mm black buttons or safety eyes, stuffing, pair of 4 mm (US size 6) knitting needles, tapestry needle.
Cable Pullover: 25 g of worsted weight yarn, pair of 4 mm (US size 6) knitting needles, darning needle, length of matching cord (optional).
